  • Curing: The process of maintaining adequate moisture and temperature in freshly poured concrete to allow it to achieve its desired strength and durability.
  • Decorative Concrete: Concrete that has been enhanced with color, texture, patterns, or a combination thereof to improve its aesthetic appeal. This includes stamped, stained, and polished concrete.
  • Exposed Aggregate: A concrete finish achieved by removing the top layer of cement paste to reveal the underlying aggregate (stones/sand), creating a textured, durable surface.
  • PSI (Pounds per Square Inch): A unit of measurement for the compressive strength of concrete.
  • Sealer: A protective coating applied to concrete surfaces to resist moisture, stains, chemicals, and weathering, and to enhance appearance.
  • Stamped Concrete: Freshly poured concrete that is imprinted with patterns (e.g., stone, brick, wood) using specialized stamps.
  • Subgrade: The native soil or prepared base on which a concrete slab is poured. Proper subgrade preparation is crucial for the longevity of the concrete.
